Hours: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm (There will be occasions where you will be    required to work outside of these hours, including weekends to meet the needs of the business.
Salary: Experience Dependent (Contact the office for more information)
Location: The role holder will be expected to be flexible and travel to a maximum of one hour from their current site (this may be immediately effective once notified).
 
We are currently seeking an experienced Company Accountant/Business Manager on behalf of a successful local business in the Leisure and Tourism industry.
 
Job Purpose
Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, you will supervise the day to day running of head office, maintain and report on the company’s finances, ensure compliance with governance and support the Head of Operations, Executive Director and the Board as required.  This is a hands-on position that requires a sound working knowledge of financial accounting, compliance, reporting and systems to ensure the smooth running of this business support unit.
 
General Duties:
  • Supervision of the day-to-day duties of the head office support team
  • Ensure that the head office team provide the business support as required by the various trading units
  • Prepare and analyse regular financial reports and operational statements
  • Maintain & further develop effective financial controls
  • Completion of regulatory returns to various bodies on a timely basis
  • Provide support to Company Secretary, preparing associated returns and taking minutes at Board meetings
  • Attend & contribute to meetings at all levels as required
  • Review and recommend efficiency savings as identified
  • Produce regular and ad hoc reports as required
  • Provide support to the Head of Operations and Executive Director
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects as required
 
Skills, Knowledge and Behaviour
  • ACCA, CIMA or ACA qualified with at least 3 years post qualification experience
  • Ability to organize workload, balance competing pressures and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across all levels of the organization
  • A keen eye for detail and a flexible attitude to get the job done
  • Able to motivate and manage a small team of support staff
  • Computer literate (Pegasus Opera, MS Office)
  • Understanding and commitment to providing the best customer experience
  • Willingness to work hands on with the team to support all areas of the business
