NXT are proud to be working on behalf of a rapidly expanding Civil Engineering business in the North of Cumbria, recruiting for an experienced HSEQ Coordinator. This is a very administrative role and therefore excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage your own workload is key.
 
Duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Monitoring Health, Safety, Environment and Quality performance indicators across all sites for staff and sub-contractors
  • Coordination of all HSEQ documentation including risk assessments, training diaries, site surveys and reports
  • Inducting new members of staff and sub-contractors, both in the office and out on site; ensuring all paperwork is signed before they commence work
  • Promoting a safety culture within the business that encourages team work and continual improvement
  • Ensuring company insurance policies and documents are legally compliant and up to date
  • Management of asset and equipment registers – Ensuring that all equipment is regularly serviced, maintained and in safe working order
  • To maintain the COSHH assessment register and provide updates to management
  • Contact with external professional advisors, partner organisations, contractors and Health and Safety agents as required
  • To carry out internal quality audits and to report and monitor what corrective actions are in place and when completed
  • Booking of all company external training courses including travel and accommodation and following up with recovery of training grants
  • Management of the company staff training records, ensuring that refresher courses are booked well in advance and that risks are minimised
  • Issuing of training certificates and maintaining electronic training files
  • Applying for CSCS cards and H&S tests and updating the CSCS records
  • Preparation of HSEQ marketing tools for use in the office and to be circulated to the team, including posters, bulletins and questionnaires
  • Creating and updating action/improvement plans, scorecards and to role out new systems and procedures to the business
  • To play a key role in meetings with both managers and key members of staff
 
 
Skills and Experience:
  • Excellent administration skills and able to record information with great accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence people
  • Excellent problem solver and able to multitask
  • You will have worked in a similar role previously and have solid experience of the duties and responsibilities listed
  • Civil Engineering or Building experience is highly desirable but not essential
